Flying Cow Genetics offers a four-day hands-on bovine reproduction class. During the class, you can expect to learn artificial insemination, pregnancy checking, basic anatomy of a cow’s reproductive tract, heat detection, synchronization protocols, as well as cattle nutrition and general herd health.

INSTRUCTORS                                                                                                                                                     

The lead instructor is owner Dr. Tony Small.  Very few artificial insemination schools offer the opportunity to learn directly from a veterinarian. In addition to Dr. Small, the school features leading authorities in the area of herd health and nutrition.
 

LOCATION & LODGING                                                                                                                                             

All classes are held at Flying Cow Genetics’ state-of-the art reproductive facility 15 miles west of Welch, Oklahoma.  We are 75 miles from the Tulsa International Airport and conveniently located 30 miles from Miami, Vinita, and Coffeyville. Most of our students stay in the Miami area. Hotel options include the Buffalo Run Hotel, Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inn and Microtel Inn. There are also other hotels options available in other neighboring communities.

REGISTRATION AND FEES                                                                                                                                        

The registration fee for the Flying Cow A.I. School is $1,200 per person.  School attendance is limited to the first 20 registrants to allow for more hands-on experiences.  Our classes are held Monday through Thursday on the third week of the month.

Please understand that due to costs associated with the class, no refunds will be issued for cancellations within 30 days of the class. Participants must be at least 18 years old to attend.

DAILY SCHEDULE                                                                                                                                               

Morning sessions will begin with classroom instruction and illustrations followed by live cattle application in the afternoons. Lunch will be provided daily.
